PRODUCT QUESTIONS
• What are the products made of?
We proudly use 100% Recycled HDPE (High Density Polyethylene).
• Why does the product have texture?
The texture provides additional reinforcement to the structure of the grid and maximizes frictional resistance.
• Why does the product have holes in it?
The holes or perforations have two purposes. They are designed for lateral drainage to reduce hydrostatic pressure in various applications. In addition, they allow for vertical aggregate lock.
• How is it packaged?
Cell-Tek products are collapsed, folded, banded and individually shrink wrapped for convenient shipping and handling.
• Will exposure to sunlight affect it?
Our Verti-Cell Botanical Retaining Wall has a UV proctective ingredient in the exposed front face.
• How does it work?
Cell-Tek confines material and prevents lateral movement away from the applied load. The connected and filled cells create a geocell panel that acts as a large mat by spreading the load over an extended area.
This translates to a 40% - 60% reduction of the sub base saving both time and material cost.
• What are the various applications?
Driveways, patios, walkways, boat ramps, shed pads, rooftop paving, beach access, loading docks, nature trails, wetland crossings, service roads, shoreline protection, emergency access, golf courses, waterfronts, cart paths, pavers, asphalt, concrete, temporary roads, drainwage swales, etc. There are endless possibilities.
• Can I use it to create a green roof?
The SG200 and SG300 are ideal for stabilizing the planter layer of any green roof. The grid installed with tendons will prevent vertical uplift on any roof, sloped or flat. Additionally, perforations in the cell walls allow for lateral drainage. Grids work with all sub drainage systems and can virtually be incorporated into any green roof design.
INSTALLATION QUESTIONS
• Is it easy to install?
Yes! Click here for our Installation Guide which includes simple step-by-step instructions.
• Is on-site installation training available?
Yes. Depending on the location of the job we often send out technicians to assist with an initial installation. Call us at 1-888-851-0051 to inquire about this service.
• How much Stabilizer Grid do I need for my job?
Each Stabilizer Grid covers an area of 170 square feet. Calculate the square footage of your job and divide by 170 to determine the number of grids needed. Round up to cover wastage. If you are using 200SG or 300SG please click here to use our new Celltekulator – it will instantly calculate the materials needed and savings!
• Can you provide grids with custom specifications?
Yes. As the manufacturer we have the ability to customize the size, cell depth, seam interval, etc. If you have a specific project that requires a custom size cell or grid please contact us.
• Can I cut this product easily?
It can be cut easily with a razor knife, utility scissors, etc.
• What types of infill materials can I use?
There are many options depending on the application. Sand, gravel, soil, a mixture of infill materials; are all possibilities.
• How do you connect the product?
Quick Clips are available to easily connect the grids together. Click here to learn more about Quick Clips.
• Do you really have to connect the products?
Yes. The object is to create a single geocell mat of any size and/or shape for maximum strength.
• Can you use this on a slope?
Yes. Some slopes may require engineering. Please call us to discuss your needs with our engineering staff.
• Can I install it on a shoreline so it partially submerged in the water?
Yes. The product is completely waterproof and it can be used for this application.
• After the Stabilizer Grid is expanded, can I drive on it?
Once cells are completely filled loads can be applied.
• What can I plant in the exposed cells of the Verti-Cell wall?
A wide variety of indigenous plants can be planted in the exposed cells. Contact your local garden center or a landscaper for advice on which plants would work best for your climate, etc. |
